Apple varieties are dwindling. Who cares? We should. Apples represent America and the roots of this country. The care that most citizens put into the growing and preparation of the fruit, represented the growth and care and respect of all. Recently $1.2 billion dollars disappeared from an investment fund that Governor and later Senator Corzine of New Jersey was overseeing. All the major job holders of this fund simply said they did not know where the money disappeared! No care in the growth of people’s money was put into this fund and no one cares where it went. This is the America of today.

In the foothills of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains there are apple orchards in the town of Pinnacle trying to save the integrity of 200 years of work from the settlers here in America. 150 years ago there were 6,000 varieties of apples that were widely grown and now that has dwindled down to a few hundred varieties. They don’t care anymore like the guys that don’t care where your money went in your fund.

It takes care and devotion to maintain a apple tree for decades. Each year it must be carefully pruned in an effort to save old southern apples. Apples are as American as….. you know, Apple Pie. The seeds were brought here by some of the first European settlers, apples were a critical part of the early American diet. They are hearty, nutritious, delicious and versatile.

They were fried for breakfast as apple fritters. They were stewed for supper. They were dried on the roof tops of their homes so they can have apples in the wintertime. Yes, unlike the fund managers we give our money for safekeeping that don’t even know where the money went supposedly, the settlers managed their wealth , the apple seed to fortify them year round.

The variety of apples had distinctive names like Arkansas Black, Gilmore Winesap, Swiss Limbertwig and Paragon to name a few. But as time went on these heirloom varieties started to disappear. Well, you can blame it on the railroads. The Industrial Revolution of the 1800’s. Now the apple could be shipped from distant places. They didn’t need to grow apples to survive anymore. Just like simply putting your money in a bank account in your local main street bank we put our money in funds somewhere in cyber space. The Governor then Senator can’t find your money. It disappeared!

Over 30 years ago there are farmers that decided to bring back lost apples. They are saving more than 500 varieties. Some of which are the only ones known to exist. But saving these apples are not just about saving history, the taste needs to be savored. Some taste like coconut or pineapple or even raspberries.

Go 60 miles north from Pinnacle, North Carolina to Dugspur Virginia, award winning ciders are being made. The complex flavors of the old types of apples are making an interesting flavor for cider. The main company is Foggy Ridge Cider that is offering the latest edition of an American tradition. Restaurants are now offering gourmet ciders somewhere between the beer and wine lists and the soda and iced tea list.

Yes those guys in $1,000 suits that can’t find your fund money were supposed to find a way for your cash to grow. The gourmet cider industry is the fund that is growing for the apple orchard owners. To find an apple that was thought to be extinct to spend 30 years to grow it and to taste it for the first time is an ultimate experience. Just like all the money people were supposed to be able to enjoy after 30 years of saving their money to be growing and put towards their retirement.

Apples originated in Kazakhstan where they have been evolving for over 4.5 million years just like money that has been around for the same time. Hold on to your money and try to make it grow because it is dwindling and no one is going to jail for loosing it.

　

There are new hungry and new poor people in America who used to have lots of food for holidays and give generous checks to the poor in the past. Not anymore. Their big suburban homes are in foreclosure, every time you go to the supermarket the prices go up and the size of the box goes down. They have lost their jobs.

The fact is that one in six Americans do not know where their next meal will come from.

In Forsyth Counties many subdivisions near Atlanta look great with large homes where the average homeowner earns $88, 000 per year. The highest in Georgia and the 13^th highest in America. Now for more families there, the prosperity has ended. They lost their jobs, their savings are gone when they tried to make the ever inflating mortgage payments, so foreclosure is on its way.

Keeping food on the table is a struggle. At food pantries they are noticing that those who used to donate are now on the receiving line. Two or three years ago their hunger would not exist. Nearly 15% of Americans are now receiving food stamps. It is a record level high. 49 Million say they are having trouble putting food on the table.

At the high school 8% of the students get free lunch . That is double the amount of students in need from three years ago. Although It is discrete, the high schoolers know they are getting the free food and they are embarrassed and unwilling to reveal their plight to friends.

There is also a new group of needy people. The War Veterans. In the past If you were a veteran you would get discounts, a break on your mortgage and even entire communities built modest homes for them to start a new life at home. Not anymore. Most of the new veterans come home missing limbs and or full of nightmares. All sorts of psychological problems. They come home in far worse shape than when they left. They come home to no home and no job poor and hungry too.

Then there is the elderly who thought they did everything right in their lives only within the last three years to find their so called safely put away monies for their retirement gone because of fraudulent money funds, They are hungry and poor and too feeble to even look for a handout.

Today more and more people are silently seeking a charity who will help put oil in their tanks to heat their homes this winter. You can see people driving in expensive cars up to a food pantry seeking a box of donated food. The car loan companies just haven’t repossessed it yet. These are the faces of the new poor and hungry.

When President Obama was elected a few years back, millions of people cheered and he represented the new hope in America. He even looked new. Young and black. His eloquent and moving speeches that got him elected always had the word “change” in it. He even had that word staring at us while he got the crowd up and cheering.

Yes, Change. Who knew it meant Change for the worst!

Dan Aykroyd sells vodka now. He is known for making toast out of ghosts in his classic movie “Ghostbusters’ but now he is making toasts with glasses. He was just 23 years old and the youngest of the original famous Saturday Night Live crew and soon became famous. Now more than 40 years later he is becoming famous for his Crystal Head Vodka found in your local liquor store.

Tis the season to stock your house bar with the essentials because the once a year relatives are visiting again. Yes, it is the holidays and what can you possibly talk to these people about while you are thinking, “Gosh they look much older this year!” So, to be polite talk about the Vodka you just bought in the unique skull shaped bottle.

The bottle will catch anyone’s eyes off of looking at how old you look now too. It is an actual rendering of a human skull. You can dominate the conversation by offering the information that the funny man is now in a serious business of selling Vodka. His brand as he says, “The Vodka is an award winning fluid. It is Vanilla, sweet, dry , crisp with a kick .” In fact Dan Aykroyd’s Vodka was awarded a double Gold Medal in the San Francisco World’s Spirits Competition this year.

The legend of the bottle according to Aykroyd is grounded in his family’s fascination with the para-normal. His great-grandfather was a spiritualist and his father a Canadian Government Official who wrote an entire book called , “A History of Ghosts” His entire family was into séances up through the 1950’s. They had a family medium called Walter and The American Society for Psychical Research Journals were all over his house while growing up.

That fascination gave birth to his movie Ghost Busters. It is one of the top grossing comedies of all time. Thus he combined his knowledge of spooky stuff with his talent for comedy. He made sure he used real terms, real vernacular, used the real theories of para-normal research. His knowledge made the movie more believable. My friend Sharon who is a great writer uses her knowledge of unique locations that make you feel immersed in the situation.

Another of Dan’s passions is blues music. He managed to keep the spirit of his late great friend still alive through his successful chain of Blues Brothers Restaurants. Who can forget the classic Blues brother’s Movie. John Belushi was Dan’s best friend and co-star who died of a drug overdose in 1982 just 2 years after the movie’s release.

Yes, it has been 30 years and Dan feels that if he lived, John would have been pleased with the success of all that. Had John lived , he would have been immersed in the Blues business. John’s legacy is a warning to stay away from powders and pills. Instead, drink legal Vodka at your party, talk about the bottle and reminisce on Dan Aykroyd’s career. What else are you going to talk about until they leave!

Ok, they asked for another drink and they won’t leave. So, talk about Dan’s wife. She is Donna Dixon to whom he has been married to for 30 years which is remarkably stable by hollywood standards. She was the hot blond actress he met while filming the comedy Dr Detroit. They have three beautiful daughters. It is a wonderful life for him and no way less busy; he is currently working on the movie Ghost Busters III.

Congressman Rep. Barney Frank from Massachusetts will retire after his current term in Congress. So, who cares. We do because he is a gay man who courageously came out of the closet in 1987 at age 47. Now, I believe that who ever you are sleeping with is really no one’s else’s business but for same sex people it can be a problem at work for some reason. Well, in terms of benefits and next of kin issues it was not allowed.

He is known for being a to the point talker in Congress and always says what is on his mind. He is a democrat and said that his retirement was prompted by changes made to the boundaries of his U.S. House District. He was first elected to the House from Massachusetts in 1980. He is one of two people that came out in Congress. The other gay guy is Gary Studs and he was outed . Only Barney announced his sexuality to all.

What was that like 25 years ago? He admits that it was scary but he did not reveal it because of some kind of crusade. He knew that he was in a prominent job and that he wanted it to be known simply as a matter of fact and not as some tabloid revelation. When he did tell everyone he received less negativity that he thought he was going to get.

He sees it as more of a party difference. If you are a Democrat gay, lesbian, bi-sexual or transgender you are pretty free to come out and get the support and encouragement of other officials and of the voters. Barney says, the closeted people are overwhelmingly Republicans. There have been 2 gay Republicans that have come out, both in Congress and in both cases, they ran into great opposition from their party.

Many don’t realize that this is not a choice. He says, People don’t choose to be straight or to be gay. No one is sorry about it, it is just a fact of life. The Republicans are going around saying .”It is not your fault that you are gay. As long as you seem to be ashamed of it! As long as he is embarrassed by it, lies about it and hides it they will tolerate it.”

On the Democrat side of it , he is free to be who he is. He brings his partner places and he will be at the White House party with his partner Jim, go to the White House Ball and have their picture taken with the President. So that means our country is divided also by gay and straight too?

Barney is not leaving over a gay or straight issue. He is leaving frankly because he is tired. He is 71 years old. By the end of his term he will be 73 years old. Also due to the fact that they changed his district he would have to campaign with new people in new places. He does not want to put in the effort necessary to get to know the people in the new district.

Whatever you may think about the sexuality issues, Barney Frank was well frank with people. He stood up for what he believed and wasn’t afraid to discuss any issues. Too bad he is old and tired but he is also ready to admit that unlike others in politics that do not leave well into their 80’s.

J. Edgar Hoover was the most powerful closeted homo-sexual man in America. He created the FBI and was the head of the FBI for an astonishing 48 years. No one ever gets to keep their job for that long. 8 Presidents were afraid to fire him. In fact, Nixon extended the retirement age just for him. He worked with his lifetime companion and top Deputy Clyde Anderson Tolson who he left his entire estate to and who also bought the closest burial plot to Hoover’s to be together after death. What role would he have taken today with the new laws in some states that accept same sex marriages?

There will be a new movie coming out soon about J. Edgar Hoover starring Leonardo DiCapprio. We all know the actor Leonardo probably better than Hoover. After all, we are living about 40 years after Hoover’s death. I guess we can all use a bit of a history lesson about this tough mobster of the American government for many years.

He was a local to the Washington D.C. area. He grew up on Capitol Hill living two blocks away. He is buried in a Congressional Cemetery. Yes, your tax dollars pay for elected officials even after death. He got his job in 1924 and he became one of the most powerful men in American history. He collected secrets on people and knew how to use them to control people. His Mafia or personal army was the secret society of the Federal Bureau of Investigations , the FBI a secret society of ours that could compete with the likes of James Bond. You know those sexy spy movies. They call it professional law enforcement.

Presidents were afraid to fire Hoover. Congress did not want to do any oversight. So, the FBI was a law unto itself. Ron Chessler has written 3 books about the FBI. He says that ironically in the beginning, Hoover a young Justice Department lawyer was in charge of cleaning up a corrupt division. Boy, we could really use a version of him today to clean out the mess that is in Government today.

He went about his job immediately establishing an aura of professionalism. He made sure relatives of workers weren’t hired. Nothing like the open nepotism that runs rampart today in society. Today employment agencies encourage you to get a job simply because you know someone influential in that field, not on merit.

He established the fingerprint identity operation we still use today and created files on people not products. He also established the FBI Academy. I taught at the Police Academy for NYC for a few years. That Academy trained agents to be bold and go out for crime busting by sharp shooting from moving cars . The bureau’s reputation soon soared with high profile arrests of gangsters like John Dillinger.

With his proven ability to clean up gangsters, he gained influence in Washington and was able to get other agencies like the head of the Washington Field Office to collect information on Congressmen that would include personal information like affairs, or evidence of seeing important people picking up prostitutes. With any damaging information he could collect on someone he would then use it against them publicly if he felt like it.

Hoover went a step further and collected files on celebrities. People like Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon , Elvis Presley and even Albert Einstein. Why? Well, he wanted to give information to Presidents and to maintain his aura of being needed and important.

Arthur D. Delouse now 91 years old was one of Hoover’s top lieutenants. He attests that with wire tapping and hidden tape players and microphones, they were watching the whereabouts of President Kennedy who was sharing a girlfriend Judith Campbell Exeter with Chicago Mob Boss Sam Gianconna. He got the Attorney General to approve this surveillance.

The bugging of Martin Luther King Jr. was justified by Hoover because he thought 2 of King’s top advisors were Communists. In fact, King was criticizing Hoover for his involvement in the civil rights marches. Hoover through wire tapping revealed Kings extramarital affairs. Meanwhile, Hoover himself is a closeted homosexual that was sure to be unaccepted by society at that time.

Hoover was outraged with King’s affairs meanwhile he called himself a Minister. He was also jealous of King who was gaining popularity, who received the Nobel Peace Prize. The blackmail went further in that Hoover would write letters to other acclaiming award entities bashing King and revealing the secret damaging information he acquired.

The files of the FBI were full of information on the sex lives of prominent figures. He manages to keep his homosexual personal life out of the spotlight. Meanwhile, with Clyde his lover, Hoover worked closely with him in adjoining offices. They would have lunch and dinner together almost every day and go on vacations together and take pictures of each other. It was clear they had a friendship and a spousal relationship with each other.

If Hoover knew of rumors circulating about his life he would send his deputies out on those talking about his life and open the files. People would then be quiet. So, 8 Presidents let him be. LBJ let him serve beyond the 70 year age limit. Nixon was afraid to fire him too. Hoover died in 1972 at the age of 77.

They are still Red Hot! Yes the Red Hot Chili Peppers. No not the veggie that Spanish people like to eat. THE BAND! And now they are on a European tour. Under the Bridge was a great song of theirs written in 1992 ,yes, 20 years ago they were hot too!

Who are this band? Sometimes they sound like rock, other times their songs sound like rap and then they got the slow songs too like Stadium Arcadium. They come from Southern California and have sold more than 60 Million records. The band began in 1983. Two band members Kiedis and Flea know each other since 1983 in high school. In Los Angeles.

They soon became known for their wild performances including appearing on stage wearing a sock on their penis‘s. They also went through a time when they were soaked in drugs and boose. Kiedis and Flea managed to always keep together, other band members have left the group. 13 guys have come and gone throughout the years. The drummer Chad Smith didn’t start with the band but has been there since 1989.

All grown up now, Smith is 50, Flea and Kiedis are both 49 years old and all three are now parents with young children. The kid in the band is its newest member lead guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. He is just 32 years old and was barely walking when the Chili Peppers first performed.

The 1991 album Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic was their introduction to the world and their distinctive sound. It sold more than 15 Million copies and included the Under The Bridge song. During the late 90’s and early 2000’s the band dominated the charts and airwaves with albums including Californication, By The Way and the 2 CD Stadium Arcadium which won 5 Grammy awards.

To promote the album they went on a 2 year tour around the world. Then exhausted they decided to take a 2 year break. Drummer Chad Smith made a children’s album with Dick Van Dyke rapping at 84 years old. Flea spent his time teaching music at The Silver Lake Conservatory of Music he founded in Los Angeles. It provided music lessons to 700 students a week that probably are to poor to pay for music lessons. Flea became a student studying classical music at the University of Southern California.

The 2 year break changed things in that guitarist John Forchante who helped write some of the Pepper’s biggest hits decided to leave the band. So, Josh was invited to the band and recorded the latest album I’m With You that shot to the top of the charts when it was released this summer. In September they were nominated to be in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. Not bad for a bunch of old rockers.

　

　

Not a single banker went to jail for the mortgage mess in America. The wall street bankers need to go to jail; not any protestor fighting to just survive and want a home and job. America owes that to our children. It has been three years since the financial crisis ruined the American economy. There has not been a single prosecution of a high ranking Wall Street executive or major financial firm; even though fraud and financial mis-management is a major cause of the meltdown of our economy.

WHY? For example lets look at the Mortgage Company we used to see countless advertising all over America. We’ve all heard of Countywide Financial. Well, lets look closely at this disgusting sham of a company. Eileen Foster was a senior executive at this company who believes that there are people at her company that belong in jail. She would only disclose their names to a grand jury.

WHY? Hasn’t she ever been asked or was summoned to talk to the Justice Department even though she was Countrywide’s Executive Vice-President in charge of fraud investigations? At the height when everyone was seemingly being able to purchase a home, Countywide was the largest mortgage lender in the country. The loans it made were among the worst with 1/3 of the loans ending up in foreclosure or default even then many because of mortgage fraud right at the companies hands.

It was her job to monitor and investigate allegations of fraud happening from Countrywide’s employees and to make sure they were reported to the Board of Directors and the Treasury Department. She admits that she saw fraud throughout the system everywhere. It wasn’t a few individuals it was the normal way to conduct business there by all. In 2007 she sent a team to Boston to investigate banking practices at one of their branches. The investigators found evidence that the loan officers were forging and manipulating borrowers income and asset statements to help them get loans they weren’t qualified for and couldn’t afford.

Signatures were being cut off of one document and glued to another document, photocopied to look new. The loan officers doing this were well compensated with bonuses and commissions. What was going on in Boston was also going on all over America. After she found out what was going on the company began concealing evidence of fraud from her in violation of company policy and Countrywide’s internal financial control system.

She will not disclose his name but someone high up in the top levels of management told employees to circumvent her office and instead report suspicious activity to the personnel department who routinely fired whistleblowers and rewarded the highest earning loan officers. She took her information to the audit department but no actions were being taken.

In 2008 Countrywide merged with Bank of America. During the merger she was told to downplay the severity of the situation. She finally refused to go along. The very next day she was fired.

It should be a crime to retaliate against someone for making reports of mail fraud, bank fraud and Mortgage fraud. They treated her as if she was the problem and not all the fraud the company was participating in.

She was told to sign a 14 page document that in essence would buy her silence in exchange for a large amount of money. She refused to simply be bought off. At this point she wanted them to be accountable to answer questions to a federal investigator and worry about being exposes and being held accountable for committing a crime.

Eileen has spent the last 3 years trying to clear her name. This fall she finally won a federal whistle blower complaint against Bank of America for wrongful termination and was awarded nearly 1 Million dollars in back pay and benefits. Yeah, she got some of her dignity back but it still does not solve the problem of the bad guys going to jail!

WHY? Has the Justice Department failed to go after Countrywide for mortgage fraud?

THERE HAS NOT BEEN A SINGLE PROSECUTION

WHY? Haven’t the Justice Department used the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 where Bush signed a law to prevent corporate fraud after the Enron, Pico and WorldCom mess? It was supposed to restore confidence in American corporations and financial markets. It was supposed to hold CEO’s and CFO’s accountable for the bad practices of their companies.

Countrywide has gone out of business. It’s CFO settled out of court and paid a record 22 Million dollar fine which only represented 5% of the compensation he received between 2000 and 2008. He got no jail, forced to pay a relatively small amount of money compared to the millions he was able to take out of the company.

The Department of Justice CAN put people in jail however the Securities Exchange Commission cannot put someone in jail. So, being under the scrutiny of both agencies is a loophole that doesn’t require jail time. Our government will just take money too !

Michael Buble¢ has the number one album in the country today simply called Christmas. Not bad for a Frank Sinatra want-a-be. All he ever did was sing along to Frank’s greatest hits and now Michael has become a star in his own right. This guy is still singing songs written almost a half century ago. With updated orchestrations and some new songs, Michael is filling up arenas selling old songs again. The songs he records belong to greats like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Dean Martin. All great Italian-American crooners. Michael’s concerts include screaming teenagers that came to the concert with their grand-parents. You won’t see that demographic at any other concert.

He started out as a teenager singing in shopping malls. Now he can sell out Madison Square Garden. He has a Christmas album out for just 6 weeks, has already sold over 4 Million copies world wide. He wears a suit and tie to greet his screaming fans. Fans screaming to a big band sound?

He tries to give new life to old songs and has sold over 35 Million albums trying . Part of his success is that he has begun to integrate his own style into Frank’s songs. He has also lately not confined himself to the jazz standards. He takes his favorite songs from any decade and makes them his own. He has also had success with some of his original songs. Like “Hollywood” a story about celebrity culture. Few artists have the versatility that is Michael Buble¢ ’s trademark.

He admits that he is a imitator who stole and mimicked from great artists. The music industry doesn’t fully recognize him as an artist. He has performed 150 shows on his latest tour. He now feels more comfortable on stage than in a small room with friends.

Living off the coast of Vancouver, he spent much of his time growing up on the water. Being the son of a fisherman for three months every summer he spent 20 hour days catching and sorting salmon. Often dreaming of making it someday as a singer he would listen to songs and sing along with the songs all day long. So, Frank Sinatra was in a way his vocal coach.

The passion for swing music came from his grandfather a plumber, who introduced Michael to the greats and they spent years together listening to the old songs. Then he persuaded clubs to let Michael sing by offering free plumbing. “Haven’t Met You Yet” is his big hit that was inspired by his wife and is his favorite. She is from Argentina and is a model superstar and actress there.

Being at this trade of singing for 20 years, things are doing well for him lately. He would sing at weddings and his break came when he sang for a wedding and the Warner Brothers producer David Foster was a guest and offered him a signing of a contract. The contract changed his life.

Today he has earned the music industries highest honors including 3 Grammy’s. His first 4 albums all went Platinum. The ballad “Home” was his first original hit. For a guy that everyone criticized he at the age of 35 did ok for himself. He has hit songs, a great career and is married to a beautiful girl. He’s gone a long way from catching and sorting dead fish!

Half of the publicly traded corporations are registered in the state of Delaware. Also, our vice president’s son is the Attorney General in that state, yes a new promotion for him. Is this insider politics as usual? It is a good job for him because you know the corporations will be treating him well. After all, corporate America doesn’t want to ever be prosecuted for anything. Papa Biden has been in the old boy’s club for many years. Make room for his son Beau Biden.

Beau Biden is an Iraq War Veteran and recently became the Attorney General for the State of Delaware and the son of our present Vice-President. He is trying to also be a here by being the face of the Wall Street Protestors. He plans on suing the banks of Wall Street. Beau is not the only one filing lawsuits. Catherine Mastow of Nevada is suing, Eric Schneiderman in New York and others are beginning to look further into the banking processes.

Beau Biden calls himself a prosecutor and a consumer protector. He recently filed against a small company called Mers. It is a Delaware corporation that only has 50 employees. What is in a Delaware corporation anyway? It is obviously one of the loopholes in our system that half of the publicly traded corporations that have operations in America have their mailing address in Delaware are registered in Delaware even though there is nobody in the office but a fax machine. Look at your mail from any stock or credit card company you own. Chances are that they are based in Delaware. Yes, our paper corporations. America manufactures practically nothing.

Beau Biden says that the reason that corporations are in Delaware are because he has the best courts in the country in terms of dealing with complicated business matters. Bull crap, they are probably lining his pockets with cash right now. He filed the complaint against a 50 person company in the Chancery Court which he considers to be the finest court in the nation.

He is alleging that Mers was created by the banks and Fannie and Freddy. In 1995, they privatized our mortgage residential recording system. They are making people who are desperately trying to keep their homes crazy. Trying to get the payments down to reasonable levels based on the poor economy, our paycheck have decreased. Lower our payments! The Mortgage foreclosure so called help doesn’t help anyone. It is a constant shuffling of papers where banks require more proof of income Papers get lost and constant delays solve nothing for all. Why?

Why Mers? He is the Attorney general of Delaware. Merse is a tiny corporation based in Delaware. It has 50 employees that are in charge of keeping track of 30 Million mortgages in America. This is why we have a foreclosure crisis! The banks sold the mortgages to other banks who sold it to other banks without the homeowners notice. They were simply told make your payments to this new bank. Meanwhile each bank has a different terms and conditions to abide by. Yes that damn fine print.

The privatizing of your mortgage failed because those 50 people cannot possibly manage that work load of mortgages. Yes greed and inefficiency prevailed before any type of common sense. Everyone literally lost track of who owns what. His investigation found that 1 out of 4 foreclosures are foreclosing for the bank that doesn’t even own the mortgage anymore. It is so bad that the banks themselves don’t even know who holds the mortgage anymore they are just grabbing for your investment for quick cash.

He calls it a straight up deceptive trade practice and a violation of Delaware Law. Good luck new Biden to try to straighten out this mess. The population of Delaware doesn’t even have a million people in it. New York sneezes out that many people just on the weekends.

Sex addiction is on the rise in America and 90% of self-identifying sex addicts are men. Every day it seems a new person emerges with some dark secret revealed that ultimately ruins a career. Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen, Herman Cain, Anthony Weiner and the real sicko pedophiles like the Penn State coach, and the coach at Syracuse University.

Newsweek currently has a cover story on the subject and they say that almost 9 Million people may be addicted to sex in America. That is like the entire population of New York! It is an epidemic! For some the addiction is so bad it adversely effects their lives. Many lives are totally ruined because of their habits. Marriages are ruined, jobs are lost, they can’t get out of bed or leave the house.

An estimated 3% to 5% of the U.S. population suffers from sex addiction. It is sad when it adversely effects your life. Is it a real problem or just a bunch of horny people? And why are most sex addicts men? Well, it is a case of opportunity. Women are everywhere and are very willing these days also porn is everywhere and is well funded in cyber space. You can’t find anything or any information you are looking for on the internet but with a tap on your device bingo porn comes right up on your screen

What is wrong with the politicians lately, it is difficult to find one that was never involved in some sex oriented activity. I wrote a blog post July 25^{th 2011} on political sex. I could not even list all the men to be found involved in affairs of sorts. One even had a fundraiser at a strip club!

Is it the economy that forces people to get self gratification as quickly and as efficiently as possible? We all know that sex makes you feel good inside. For many, men at least it helps one to sleep and sleep soundly. You are exhausted after a good round of complete sex. Don’t stay awake worrying about the lack of money! Have some sex, that’ll make you feel better.

Is it the weather? Yes, we are getting into the cold weather and the price to heat your home is still way too high. Get under those covers in bed to keep warm. Sex is sure to follow if you have any attraction for each other

Are you bored with the daily grind of chores and work? Have sex! That will certainly not be boring and will be different.

Are you religious? Be like the Duggar family that even have their own cable show. They are about to have their 21st child. They read the Bible a lot and seem to always have time to have sex and bring more kids into the world.

Do you like family? Lots of relatives and children can only be created by lots of sex. Yes, the world needs more people in it that looks, thinks and  acts just like you. We are addicted after all Want to go somewhere? The movies, a live show, dinner, amusement park, casino? They all cost lots of money all in the interest to just have fun. Forget it, have sex somewhere with the right person. It probably won't cost you anything.

Gloria Allred is that female lawyer that forced Cain to step down from the Presidential race and it is a good thing. You still want your kid to want to be President someday too but not if the current guy running for President is a lying womanizer. That kind of guy is not a good role model for our kids and our nation. Today Cain withdrew from the election campaign after he admitted to giving a Mistress money for 13 years.

Should we thank Gloria or view her as a fame hungry media follower to embarrass famous men even though the men had their digressions. She seems to always be on the case lately. Gloria Allred has become known to be the most controversial and most well known leading women’s rights attorney. Her most recent and most famous case involves an allegation of sexual harassment years ago on the part of Herman Cain the Presidential Candidate that most recently was at the head of the pack running to be the top Republican .

She is everywhere there is a news station camera. Every week we see her dragging out a new girl Herman has had a date with. Plenty of women wish she could represent them because she gets the media coverage. She represented the exotic dancer who received text messages from then Congressman Anthony Weiner who also felt he should after all resign.

Gloria was there with the women who claimed to be Tiger Woods mistresses. Also, a client of hers was complaining that she was being harassed at her office because she was too pretty and her gorgeous figure was not a distraction at the work place. Gloria says, “I see myself as a strong advocate and a person who works to win justice for women.”

Love her or hate her, it is impossible to ignore her and Gloria’s press conferences can and usually mean disaster for who ever is on her bad person’s list. Last year when she took the case of a undocumented worker accusing California Governor candidate Meg Whitman of cheating her out of housekeeper wages, Whitman’s approval rating went way down and ultimately , Whitman lost the election.

Allred’s in your face style may not win many fans with politicians or cheating husbands, but she is famous in her own right. She has had a law partner Nathan Goldberg in Los Angeles for more than thirty years. She also felt the need to publicly scold Charlie Sheen for his antics even though she wasn’t hired by anyone to represent or make a statement for.

She feels compelled to be an advocate for “he done me wrong women” because no one else is there speaking up for them. Lisa Bloom is a lawyer and Gloria’s only child and one of her earliest cases. When Lisa was sent home in 5^th grade for wearing pants to a school’s square dance, she marched into the school declaring that that was discrimination. Most Moms just scurry around looking for a skirt to put on the child.

Gloria Allred grew up in Philadelphia planning to be a teacher when she grew up. She got married at age 19 when she was a sophomore in college. Had her daughter a year later and was divorced before she graduated college. She later met someone in Mexico and was raped at gunpoint. She became pregnant and found out at that time that you could not have a legal abortion. She almost died from an unsafe and illegal abortion that she had. That experience turned her into a fighter for women’s rights.

At age 33 Allred then a high school teacher finished her studies and became a lawyer. She learned quickly how to be in the headlines. In the early 80’s she sued the all male Friar’s Club successfully to become its first female member. The problem with her is that she tends to grab more spotlight than the people she represents.

When she calls a press conference all the press shows up because she is full of drama, she will publicly read very sensitive dialogue she will embarrass who ever is on her hit list at the time. Her clients become mere props for her point to make. She uses the press to force pressure on her victims and it always works. Today Cain said he can’t compete with all the allegations. He stepped down!!

If a man approached things like she does in the same way we would call him a champion, most people call her a bitch. However, the better “B” words should be Big Bucks. Allred has over the years has won over a quarter BILLION dollars for her clients just in sexual harassment suits.

Gloria turns 70 this year and enjoys her beach front Malibu home. She could have a wonderful retirement but has no intention of softening or slowing down. She never takes a vacation and doesn’t wish to take a vacation. She has a passion for justice and right now she is ecstatic that her latest venture, Herman Cain has stepped down and will be gone from embarrassing himself and duping any more women into thinking he is a honorable man.

Carol Burnett has 25 Emmys for her legendary work on her show for eleven years. She is the original that started the question and answer with the audience that was used in many shows of other entertainers. She did that so the audience would be able to get to know her before she put on costumes and became a funny character. She is known for what she does best. On stage, getting laughs and in films she puts smiles on faces all over America.

Her new book is called “This Time Together Laughter and Reflection.” The book tells stories from her years in Hollywood. Carol was the star of “The Carol Burnett Show” from 1967-1978. We all grew up watching her because her show provided us with comedy sketches, songs and dance routines. Her career began in theater in New York in the 1950’s.

As a live show, they were always getting out of character bursting into laughter. Every time Tim Conway was in a sketch, the other actors could not stop laughing. In her book she reveals that Tim would make changes when live that were not rehearsed and hilarious. Tim also had a goal to get another star of the show Harvey Korman to laugh no matter what in a sketch. Harvey was always laughing.

Women and laughter was scarce years ago but there were other legends too. People like Lucille Ball, Phyllis Diller and Joan Rivers were the female icons of comics. They all had to fight to get to the top of their game. Men were not used to listening to women at work then. Lucille Ball was constantly having to add stuff to her lines to make her show funnier. She told Carol, soon they put an S at the end of my name.

Carol had a rough childhood. She was raised by her grandmother who was married six times. Even when she died at age 81 she had a 40 year old boyfriend who was a jazz musician. Once Carol tried to move a lamp in her apartment and her grandmother told her, “Don’t move that lamp. That is my love lamp!” Both of her parents were alcoholics.

She is also known for her court case against “The National Enquirer” which set a precedent that is used for many other famous people who are slandered by the press. Carol sued the publication and won. Burnett successfully sued the National Enquirer for libel in 1981. The publication printed that she was drunk and spilling drinks on people in a restaurant. Famous people like Henry Kissinger. Coming from her background, she did not want her fans to get that impression of her and besides, the story was false.

The lawsuit continued for 5 years that she relentlessly pursued. The case went to a jury trial that decided it was “a reckless disregard for the truth.” Her proof even included a memo from the Enquirer offices that read, “Kissinger and Burnett were at the same restaurant. What can we make of this?” That memo sealed the deal for Carol.

Having performed in comedies as well as dramas, she reveals in the book that she prefers performing in comedies over dramas. She appeared in films with Walter Matthau and Robert Altman. She also appeared in a recurring role on the sitcom as Helen Hunt’s mom in “Mad About You” in the 90’s. She hated it because with all the retakes for a sitcom, a taping could go on for 6 hours for a show that would be aired for 20 minutes minus commercials. Her live show with all the costume changes would only last 2 hours and it was a lot of fun.

In 2006, Burnett played Marcia Cross’s step mom on “Desperate Housewives.” In 2009 she made a guest appearance on “Law & Order, Special Victims Unit.” You will never see a show like her show on TV again because it is expensive to produce. She had a 28 piece live orchestra, 12 dancers, 2 major guest stars a week, and 55 costumes made by the designer Bob Mackie every week. There were other variety live shows going on in that era as well. Shows like Flip Wilson, The Smother’s Brothers and The Sonny & Cher Show.

A reality show is some cameras in a house with unscripted dialogue no writers and no costumes and pretty much no talent and the weirdo’s being filmed are rich for doing nothing. And, this junk is most of the “entertainment” we get to see today. Too bad we have to think of real talented entertainers as things of our past.
