The outrage has been in his
policy to separate children from their parents no matter their age. So, now he
signed an Executive Order not to do that anymore meanwhile there are thousands
of children spread all over the United States by now in detention centers. In
this computer age where thousands of files can be compiled the outrage is over
the carelessness to record information on each and every separated child. Many
are so young that they can’t speak for themselves identifying information on
family members. Why didn’t they at least do the very identifying cheek saliva
DNA samples on these children? The carelessness and flip flopping in his
policies continue to be a problem with this inexperienced President who has no
knowledge of Constitutional law compounded with advisors that are very radical.
More than 2,300 children have
been taken swiftly away from their parents since last month. Immigration
Customs Enforcement or ICE Police have been instructed now to not only target
undocumented immigrants with criminal records but also to step up the
apprehension of immigrants with no criminal histories. In Atlanta, Georgia
there has been a 50% rise in arrests since the Trump Administration. ICE will
break down the doors of homes suspected of harboring undocumented immigrants. Obama’s
directives told ICE to target criminals and recent immigrants but Trump’s
directive is to arrest all immigrants including those with no prior criminal records.
Trump’s strict policy will not
show any tolerance even if an immigrant has family in this country or if they
have children who are United States citizens because they were born here. The
American citizen child will go into foster care while the Mother will be
deported. Obama never did anything like that. Trump’s arrest of non-criminals
have doubled meanwhile the debate goes on as Congress tries to figure out how
to deal with the DACA situation that in the past protected the children born
here. Now the citizens of undocumented immigrants are being overlooked.
Trump is doing the random
deportation of people with no regard to the fact that many have never done a
crime, pay taxes and have jobs. Their only crime was an immigration violation. So
now 11 million undocumented immigrants are facing the imminent threat of
deportation. And 4,067 691 million United States born children with at least
one undocumented parent are in jeopardy. Millions of people are living in fear,
hiding in houses afraid to go to work. Like during World War II, volunteers are
providing food when necessary. Out of fear families are living in poverty
afraid to work, go to school and pay taxes. Parents are now signing Power of
Attorney forms to friends out of fear that their children will go into
foster care with strangers or be left in cages in warehouses.
People are being deported who
have been here for 30 years, have careers homes and businesses. Now abandoned
out of fear. The 14th Amendment makes their children citizens. Now
597,000 children with United States citizenship are living in Mexico because when
the parent was deported, they took their children with them. Many children don’t
speak Spanish. There are about 1,000 children crossing the border with their
passports just to go to an American school each morning. Their lives are unsafe
and poor in Mexico. Their parents miss their jobs and businesses in America. Most
of these children go to school in New Mexico. There are no winners. Everyone is
punished.
In Washington Congress has not
been able to reach any legislative deal on immigration reform. Trump’s quest to
deport 11 million people from America is costing tax payers too much money. The
children who are Americans want to serve in our military and still be part of
the only country they know and love. They wish that their parents could have at
least work visas and a reasonable affordable way to be a legal immigrant in
America.
