It isn’t real in reality shows. It all started with the Jerry Springer show where he would have really angry people tell everyone their problems and then end the show with little resolved but always increased anger followed with a good old fashioned fist fight. One of the husbands on the reality show “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Russell Armstrong committed suicide for events in his real life that not too many people knew about. The real wasn’t in the reality show. The real was a tragedy.
In this show, there was so much pressure to live the wealthy lifestyle that Taylor’s husband accrued enormous debt . Things are elaborated and no one can predict the outcome of reality shows because they are totally unscripted. He felt the need to prove wealth on the show that he was living far beyond their means.
Is the pressure of living in the reality spotlight just too much for people? Yes, we know they freely signed up for cameras everywhere but are they really prepared for the invasion of privacy and or things being elaborated just for the sake of keeping the show interesting for ratings, for money?
Another case is Angelina Pivarnick the former star of a reality show said that being part of the “Jersey Shore” reality show ruined her life. She felt that being on that show made her act stupid and stupid was and still is encouraged. She also felt that she was always getting into fights on the show and that she doesn’t like to fight and had to leave even though she appeared in season 1 and 2.
The suicide is a real tragedy of reality shows. These shows don’t seem to be good for anybody. They are so extreme that advertisers want nothing to do with them and are willing to pay them not to feature their product on TV, The reality of The Jersey Shore is so bad that Italy did not want the show to film there and the popular clothing line of Abercrombie & Fitch asked the cast members not to wear their cloths. The bad reputation of the cast members could hurt the sales and reputation of the clothing line. Most products would be happy to have the free advertising .
TLC officially cancelled another reality show, Kate plus Eight that many feel was responsible for breaking up the marriage . It all began featuring a happy family raising a lot of children. Kate feels her entire income dwelled on this show and now doesn’t wand to leave the spotlight.
Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson of the reality show “Newlyweds” marriage ended on the reality show. Hulk Hogan’s family troubles were featured on a reality show called “Hulk Hogan Knows Best. Well they spent most of the time fighting and making him look like he didn’t know anything. They got divorced too.
So, we’ve learned that reality shows aren’t necessarily real, just inflated for ratings and money but do not really reflect what is really going on in the people’s lives. We know the shows aren’t stimulating for anyone’s brains and that they are probably ruining your lives too.
