It’s been many weeks since the
court ordered deadline to reunite kids with their parents since they were separated
at the border. Trump is ignoring the courts. Government data show that 73 of
the parents were told that their children were not being deported with them. Now
the ACLU American Civil Liberties Union, are fighting to bring some of those
deported parents back to America. What a mess! The big questions are, was their
removal misled? Did they have asylum hearings? Trump could care less. Should
the ACLU be fighting to deport the kids rather than the expensive and improbable
hope that they can bring the immigrant parents back to
America?
The effort to bring the parents
back will probably drag out the process longer. The big dilemma is that the
parents might not try to come back for fear of delaying reunification even
longer. There are more than 300 children still in custody at tax payer’s
expense. Do you remember Trump saying any of this while campaigning for the
job? I don’t! There are more than 100 kids the government is not trying to
unify at all. The office of Refugee Resettlement says they at least have the
phone numbers of the parents but the government is just sitting on this
information. Why?
There is a Judge that will be
having a status conference and will hear the ACLU’s larger lawsuit over the Constitutionality of separation.
These unification issues won’t even be looked at until they pass more court
orders over the legality of separation in the first place. This could drag on
for months. The insanity of Trump’s policy to round everyone up and then take
the children away, toss the parents out without even a wrist band identifying a
young child to a parent as they do in maternity wards in hospitals is enough of
a negligent nightmare. He has created orphans in America for no reason. He has
never justified why he tore these families apart. They are not gang members,
rapists or criminals. They were desperate families risking it all for a “better
life.”
Trump’s untreated mental illness
is out of control when he can’t even justify the reason for his expensive and
radical policies. His harsh stance on immigration is costing the tax payer
millions of dollars. Probably more than if he just let them in and try to
survive. A sensible approach would be to have Diplomatic discussions with
Mexico urging Mexico to make conditions better so its people will not want to
come to America. Life should be good in Mexico. If families want to come to
America they must have a tax paying job lined up and give them papers as long
as they are good law abiding people who work and contribute to taxes. Simple!
Now courts are involved. ACLU is
involved. Refugee organizations are involved in a cornucopia of legal law suits
that can only delay an outcome that is peculating an even longer legal mess of
delays and fear costing tax payers the monetary bourdon. This country can be better. This country
should be better? Why isn’t America better?
