Throw Them Out

Today our power hungry reckless President just shattered the lives of many good people who work hard, somehow became professionals in many fields against all odds and simply told them to leave the country. The only country they have ever known and the place they call home. In his reckless manner he simply says well, maybe Congress will pass some law that will let you back into the country. Trump treats people as disposable objects.

Today President Trump ended the DACA Program which has allowed nearly 800,000 young undocumented people to live and work in the United States without fear of deportation. So, thousands have put on their protest shoes and are rallying against the decision. Trump followed by urging Congress to tackle the program, the displaced people with a simple tweet, ”Congress, get ready to do your job” Apparently Trump thinks he is still on his reality show where he can fire 800,000 workers in America and Congress too.

Former President Obama says ending the DACA Program is “wrong and cruel.” Many documented Americans feel the same way. What is the big deal? So document all the good educated people who pay taxes and keep good jobs that enhance our communities. Trump needs to realize we are dealing with very real hardworking people and not disposable trash. That is not what this country is all about.

These people now must feel like their lives aren’t theirs. This was the place they called home and now they are literally being locked out of their home. Why? Because their parents didn’t get some documents? How could they even want to be alive if they are suddenly told their lives don’t matter here? How can we tell these people they are not alone when they will suddenly be very alone torn from their friends, relatives, homes, jobs communities and the only country they have ever known.  We treat criminals better.

Now these people get to experience anxiety and depression. Our Country is going under from racism, discrimination, sexism, violence and sexual assault. It doesn’t matter if you are black or white Christian Muslim Gay or straight. We have to fight for our collective equality. We are all born equal but we are not treated equally and we must fight the injustice. We must fight for the equality of every man woman and child. We need an environment of peace, love and equality for all. We need to applaud for ourselves and not for terribly misguided leaders.   

Trump hates immigrants. He said that undocumented immigrants cost him the popular vote. That isn’t true. Trump pardoned Joe Arpaio who became the face of the crackdown on illegal immigrants. Trump opened an office to crackdown on immigrant crime. The fact is that immigrants commit fewer crimes than natural born citizens. Trump has shown all throughout his time in office a hate for immigrants. Punishing them for something that isn’t there. We used to look down on oppression with astonishment and shame. Now the voices of hate are in charge and spreading the hate on good people that have never committed a crime. Their crime is being brought to America by their parents.

These 800,000 people are not on a path to citizenship. Every 2 years they have to pay a $1,000 fee to DACA. They have jobs where they pay taxes and pay into Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid. These are all benefits that they don't have. If we get rid of them America lose $24.6 billion dollars over 10 years. If Trump is all about jobs and saving money why is he throwing out this tax income for the country? How is this making America great?
