Face the Disasters

How can we defeat the forces of nature? God must be angry with America since we are getting hit with two major hurricanes back to back. In recent years with natural disasters hitting us more often we are getting more prepared and have been getting more organized with relief efforts. Can the forces of nature compete with our technology prowess? We have a new weapon at our disposal to help locate and save people who find themselves in impossible conditions and need help to save their lives.
Now Hurricane Irma has destroyed the beautiful Caribbean on its way to possibly hit Florida within 2 days. Hundreds of thousands have no power and homes are destroyed. People are being air lifted to San Juan Puerto Rico for hospital care. The east coast of America expects to get hit hard soon after Hurricane Harvey destroyed Houston, Texas with extreme flooding. We need a weapon to at least help us in rescue efforts to locate and save stranded people left in danger. The answer is coming with the use of drones. The annoying airborne devises were usually used just to annoy people and look around but now they are being equipped to do much more.
We can face the disaster and do something about it. Rescue drones can look at a problem but can also go into a building and look around for survivors. No airplane or helicopter can do that too. Drones can get into the air in just minutes and are now being deployed by more than 300   State and local agencies across America. Drones are also saving lives now. They can be equipped with safety lines to drop ropes to people in preparation for a larger helicopter to pick them up. Drones can be equipped with thermal imaging where they can locate the heat of bodies where no clear view is possible in the dark of night. In Houston it was a drone who found a family home in a remote area completely surrounded by water and dropped them ropes for their rescue. To assist in nighttime rescues a drone can be equipped with spot lights and can drop glow sticks to the person lost in the dark waiting to be rescued. A drone can drop water and food too.
In Texas the Public Safety Response Team   is dispatching drones in emergency situations and now Fire Departments are using drones as their standard equipment.  While the firefighters are driving to a place on fire, their deployed drones can provide them with valuable information on the intensity of the flames and on where exactly bodies are located in the fire laced buildings. This saves valuable time needed to save lives in extreme conditions. Flash floods and mud slides are happening more frequently with all the climate change disturbances in our lives now. Technology is our best help now to deal with these extreme quick disasters we are being faced with on an increasingly more frequent basis. Thank goodness for the talented engineers our good colleges are turning out. Our silent and not so well known heroes who develop tracking and saving devices daily.
A drone now is a multi-purpose tool that every rescue department must have. In an active shooter hostage situation a drone can enter the building and pin point where the hostage taking situation is taking place. In just moments they will be able to take down the bad guy now. Weapons can be attached to a drone and with pin point accuracy on a command will be able to shoot down a predator.  I am just fearful for the time when the bad guys have this technology too. Then God help us all.

I guess after all we still refer to God to save us even if we are not a religious person. Some even say oh God that was great after sex. Sigh! Be safe and stay alive somehow!
