syria_chemical_weapon.jpg (300×225)Recently the United States felt the need to decide if they were going to bomb Syria. We all saw the pictures of innocent women, children and families dead from the chemical weapons the Syrian government released on their citizen. Yes, the people who allowed this to happen should be punished for murder but is the solution for us to be involved in yet another war in the Middle East? Does bombing that country make anything better for the poor people born and trying to just live there?

America has become a bit of a bully simply because we put most of our money into supporting our military might. It has been 12 years since 911 and we have been bombing the Middle East continually. We should stop asking the question, Why do Muslim people hate us? We have to stop bombing Muslim countries if we ever want to feel safe from terrorism in our country.

The Chemical Weapons Treaty is important but to the Muslim on the street here, it just looks like a new reason to bomb them. Bombing seems to be our answer to everything wrong in the world. Since 1945 we have been involved in bombing Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Serbia, Somalia, Bosnia, The Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya and Yemen. How did America inherit the moral obligation to bring justice to the world by way of bombs from the sky?

MAP-Syrian-Chemical-Weapon.jpg (718×404)Our schools are falling apart yet we want to teach everyone else in the world a lesson. At least our President is moving slowly on the decision to bomb. George Bush would have flat lined any remaining families there by now. The pieces to the Middle East puzzle is a hard thing to place these days. Maybe some other super power should take over the game and try to figure out the mess that is still going on there. It seems to still be wacky leaders in Egypt and in Syria.

It would be great to find a solution to a problem that did not involve slaughtering people. Either from chemical weapons or bombs. The world just needs a time out and to sit in the corner for awhile with a dunce hat on. Yeah, the schools don’t call kids dummies anymore. Let’s stop being dumb and find a way to just treat humans with more dignity.
