It is nice to have famous people as parents. Then with their connections you can even get your own hit show. Now, we all know that success in any industry is not attained unless you still have talent in your field to ultimately succeed. Well, maybe the raw talent of the women in the hit TV HBO show called Girls is the ultimate reason for it’s success. The charm of the show is that they are ordinary 20 something girls going through life as they can. Personally I think everyone is watching this show just to see ordinary looking girls have lots of sex.
Girls is an American television series that premiered on HBO on April 15, 2012. It is created by and starring Lena Dunham. Other cast members are Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet. If you want to feel better about yourself watch this show because these girls have serious self esteem problems and that is what makes it entertaining because we all can identify with self esteem problems at some time in our lives.
The main character Hanna played by Lena Dunham is an aspiring writer who lives on her own in New York City. She is too self absorbed to be worldly, too awkward to be popular and too dumpy to skate on looks alone. In the past all women that were trying to make it in the world alone were at least hot. This girl is charming in her own simple way but is certainly not hot. But don’t feel bad for her she is doing just fine.
Lena Dunham at age 26 is the head writer, executive producer, creator of the show and Golden Globe Winner. She was en route to Silvercup Studios in Queens when she found out she'd been nominated -- twice -- for her work on the HBO comedy "Girls." The phenom scored nods for both her performance as Hannah Horvath, the aimless Brooklynite she plays on the series, and for directing one of the season's most infamous episodes, "On All Fours." She already won her Emmy.
Jemima Kirke’s dad is the Bad Company Band drummer Simon Kirke. Zosia Mamet’s dad is the prize winning playwright David Mamet and Allison Williams is the daughter of NBC Anchor Newscaster Brian Williams. Lena Dunham is the daughter of famous artist Carole Dunham and photographer Lore Simmons. Can we all be just jealous of these kids of famous people? Now it is their show getting all the attention and all their parents can do is sit back and watch.
She has a pilot in the works for another HBO show and a reported $3.7 Million dollar book deal. It is hard to say how far Dunham will soar next. It is complicated for her because she is young and female and now in a position of power. All of the older people can only stand back and let her pass to success in front of them; especially those who think they are really the beautiful people. They have no right to question her success.
The show Girls will be on for it’s third season in the Fall.
