It is Father’s Day. A special day where we stop and take a look at our Dads. We reflect and we judge. Yes we thank the guy for being there and sometimes we regret that we inherited his baldness or are happy that we inherited his tallness either way he is our DAD and we should be grateful that he was there for us .Hopefully, it is a fond memory but all too often these days many don’t even know their Dad’s identity.
Being a Dad is an emotional endeavor. Mothers have a clear bond with their children because most women have been branded from the suffering it caused them during birth. Many women have the scars from a cesarean or an episinomy during the birthing process that will never be forgotten for the rest of that woman’s life. Men have it easy. They become a father from a really good session of successful sex; that is if you wanted to create a child.
After the sex and she comes all excited to you that the tests have come back positive; you have to change. The men have to learn real quickly to become a caring loving concerned financially able to provide and nurture that child into a fine specimen of a human being. It is something that many men do not do or don’t know how to do. There aren’t any schools that teach you how to be a good parent; a good father.
The statistics show a real problem in the way men treat women these days. The neglect and down right aggressiveness show in how fatherhood has failed. Being a father takes a lot of wisdom and most of all setting a good example for your children to learn from. It starts with how a man treats a woman. We are still haunted by the pictures we all saw of Rhianna’s face after she took a beating from the hands of Chris Brown. There are many women beaten everyday and do not testify in court because they are too afraid of being beaten again. FATHER’S TEACH THEIR CHILDREN NOT TO ASSAULT OTHERS.
FATHER’S TEACH THEIR CHILDREN TO NEVER LET THEIR ARGUMENTS TO GET PHYSICAL
Where did the Wonder Woman comic book heroin evolve from? The woman figure that can take on a man physically for revenge of deeds gone terribly wrong; after all, many assaulter's are let free within days of an arrest. If there was good fathering, we would not need a folk hero like Wonder Woman to take care of abusive husbands. Her bracelets stopped bullets and her shield fought for justice. Just a fantasy in a comic book.
One third of the women that are murdered are murdered by an intimate partner. One in every four women will experience domestic violence during their lifetime. Most instances are not even reported. In fact, it is the most chronically under reported crime. Why? Because women are scared. It is incredibly difficult to get convictions. Most cases are dismissed before they get to a trial. The victims are blamed. Many of the women feel so hopeless that they just take the abuse.
FATHER’S ARE THERE FOR THEIR CHILDREN, THEY PROTECT THEM WHEN THEY ARE IN TROUBLE
So, when she says, ”I think I want to have your child” think not of just the pleasurable episodes in creating life but think of the commitment you must take to being a father. If there were more fathers in the world and less orphans or single women parent households or less men in prisons, perhaps the world would be a better place.
FATHERS ARE THERE TO MOLD GOOD CHARACTERS OF THEIR CHILDREN
Celebrate Father’s Day with whoever was your father figure in your life. He was not just a sperm donner if he was or is your Father. Make him feel like your father by showing in some way your fatherly love. He was there for you. Be there for him on Father’s Day.
