Religion is making us fearful of life lately. It used to make us feel better and be the answer to all the unanswered questions that science can not give us. All the prophesies are driving us crazy. There is Judgment Day falling on May 21, 2011 when supposedly God will close the gates to heaven and the Mayan Calendar predicting the end of the world on December 21, 2012. What should we do or believe?
Recently there is even a debate if heaven really exists. Legendary physicist Steven Hawking who is one of the most famous scientists on the planet, says heaven doesn’t exist but three quarters of the American population believes it’s there somewhere. He says, “ Heaven is part of a fairy story for people who are afraid of the dark,” he also said, “I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail. There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers.”
Of course there are those who insist that heaven is real. There is a church Pastor’s son who insists he saw heaven. His father has written a best selling book about his son’s visions called Heaven is for Real. The child at age 4 when near death, underwent emergency surgery said he met Jesus and 2 of the Apostles, . His name is Colton Burpo. His father is the author Todd Burpo.
With all this gloom and doom being spread around there is a new church activity we can all join in watching. There is a group of women in Texas that meet once a week in the Church hall called Pole Dancing For Jesus. It is set to Christian music . Should we kneel when we pass Hooters? I think it is great. Anytime the Church could embrace female sexuality, it is a good thing and not just tell people that sex is bad. All our famous and worldly leaders are spreading their love freely. However , I thought the Christians said spread the word not your legs.
