Music Can Unite Us All

Image result for Naz and Billy Ray

Can music unite this country again despite Trump and his mob with racist rants and chants? Right now there is a song called Old Town Road featuring a rapper known as Lil Nas X Feat and country western songster Billy Ray Cyrus that has reached to the top of the country western charts and is the number one highest-charting songs on the Billboard Hot 100 list. It is also the longest running Hip Hop song EVER. Now Nas is the one black guy with a cowboy hat on being cheered on by a sea of white people at country western festivals. The video has even broke records for live streams.
What is even more amazing is that the 20 year old Nas X came out on Twitter and revealed that he was gay and the usually bigoted country folk love him anyway! So how did a gay black rapper get the biggest country hit ever? Less than a year ago Nas X was a college dropout living on his sister's couch. Then he promoted his songs on Twitter and You Tube . He paid just $30 dollars for the beat and released the song independently on Sound Cloud. The song went viral on the video platform called TixTox as he promoted it with memes of just about anyone dancing to the song to create even more exposure. Soon people would drink something called Hee Haw juice and jump and dance on video.

Country music is evolving into the pop culture. It started when rapper Nelly had a song with Tim McGraw called I think About it Over and over Again and there have been lots of collaborations ever since. See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth. Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eye Peas and M& M's Lose Yourself all have collaborations with black and white artists in their own style blending not compromising.

Music now proves that we all don't have to limit ourselves into one style or genre we can all blend as one. Someone tell that to Trump and his red hat army of haters. It is time we put the haters in the back and successful things right there up front. So i joined social media because i play in a band and wanting to friend only musicians and friends of musicians. And for the most part that's what it has been about...MUSIC. There is so much awesome talent out there and very happy to be friends with you and to see and hear your bands. Yet still there are some that only post political bull crap, so bitter and negative. I am all for freedom of speech but there are people who thrive on this stuff. And God forbid you give your opinion and then the name calling starts..makes it not fun to be here

Musicians are always the most special people in society because we all know how to do what other's do but we all know how to touch everyone's heart with great music no matter what genre of music you are into. Music is the universal language of the world. Music unites us all. It is the only language written globally with it's unique notation of the staff and notes, rests and crescendo markings on paper that can be written by anyone and played and performed anywhere in the world and enjoyed that persons creativity centuries later. Yeah musicians are sensitive caring people. You see it all in the lyrics we write to our songs. Many times our passions for life does get caught up in the evil business of politics and we dive into that with the same passion we have for our music. Yes it can get very ugly but the conversation must never stop just like we must always strive to share the loving gift of our music. Trumpsters have to realize that their insults don't work on every musician or creative artist because we all at some point in our lives have been told that we weren't worth dirt but from our dirt we rose to always produce a new beautiful song.
