Support those who support us

We need to congratulate and support Dick's Sporting Goods for being one of the few businesses who have  done the moral right over the wrong of simply selling things for profit. Their things include the very harmful assault rifles that are clearly designed for combat and killing humans. In America the biggest danger is domestic terrorism. Now, daily, there is an assault on random people in any public place you can think of simply because our lawmakers have failed us. They are allowing deadly weapons to be in the hands of just about anyone and those who are banned by the law can circumvent the restrictions by simply buying machine guns on the internet.
In Parkland, the school shooting involved a mentally ill teen having a AR-15 assault weapon that had so many rapid fire bullets that he was able to kill other students on multiple floors.  Lives could have been saved if he did not have so many options with that weapon in his sick disturbed hands. Dick's sold the killer weapons. Although the tragedy was not used by a weapon that was sold to the killer, Dick's was selling the same assault weapon.
Days later the CEO of the sporting goods company announced that all sales of the AR-15 would end immediately. They also destroyed their entire inventory. It was a good moral stand that came as a cost to the sporting goods company.
It impacted the Dick's Sporting Goods sales by $250 million dollars. The CEO took the financial hit on moral grounds that the weapon clearly does not belong in a sporting goods store. The CEO's stand cost him more than just money. He lost customers and suppliers. Dick's was also ousted from the companies lobby group. The reason for that was listed as "conduct detrimental to the organization."  And that is what is wrong with America. A CEO who has morals, ethics and integrity in taking a stand to save lives is considered as a detriment to lobby groups that pay off our politicians in large campaign contributions for their influence. Thus, all we get from Trump and the Republican supported NRA is "thoughts and prayers" each time our precious family dies needlessly from a maniac with a weapon.
The CEO says his only regret was selling the AR-15 as a sporting good in the first place. So this summer, support Dick's Sporting Goods and help them thrive in this ever shrinking retail business and buy all your summer sport equipment from them because they really care for your life.
