We have a good leader in former Presidential Candidate, Senator Kamala Harris who just introduced the Vote Safe Act of 2020. This is a Bill that will provide states $5 Billion dollars for Corona Virus voting reforms. No one wants to see what happened in Michigan during the primaries, again. Where 95% of voting places were closed due to lack of election personnel showing up, and lines for miles where folks had to wait just to vote under unsafe social distancing. Her Act is an example of good leadership.
Bad leadership is White House National Senior Advisor Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, who posted on Instagram the importance of stay at home distancing, meanwhile she left her home for a Passover celebration at her New Jersey home, setting a bad example for all Americans who are following the scientists guidelines for no interactions, even during holidays. She is violating her own policies and the rules set in place. Again, bad leadership is not following your own guidelines and processes.
Currently, we are not experiencing good leadership in our country. We have a president that is actively trying to get rid of the Affordable Care Act and promptly got ride of the pandemic response team shortly after coming into office. The Affordable Care Act provides 30 million Americans access to health care, who need it now more than ever with the pandemic. He is also refusing to provide additional help to American who suffer from pre-existing conditions.
We need good leadership, like fiscal and financial brakes, such as a 120 day freeze on all credit card interest rates and payment fees/ penalties. With the financial limitations the pandemic is creating, more and more Americans will be using credit cards to make basic purchases such as groceries. A good leader would also suspend negative credit reporting to credit score programs. If a president is genuinely concerned about getting Americans back on there feet after these events, they wouldn't just randomly open up the economy. For many it will take a lifetime to get back on their feet and repair damaged credit ratings. Our president has the authority to create immediate relief for Americans who have been greatly impacted physically and financially by this pandemic.
Overall, we need good leadership now more than ever.
