We are on the road to change the
President and Vice-President as Vice-President Spiro Agnew was in trouble too many
years ago. We lost Nixon and Agnew within a year. Our current Republican Senate
has sided against Trump’s decisions twice now. The Republicans hate his
treatment of inaction with the Saudi’s who killed a Journalist living in
America and on the abandonment in the war on Yemen. Even Lindsey Graham, Trump’s
great ally criticized Trump’s handling of the
head of the Pentagon General Mattis leaving. Chief of Staff Kelly left too. Our
Justice Department Chief Jeff Sessions left
along with the Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. All these devoted men were in
high government positions and are Republicans. Even Mitch McConnell the
Republican Senator Majority Leader is distancing himself from Trump and his
wacky decisions.
Have the Republican leadership
realized finally that it is time for change especially that Trump’s extreme not
so well thought out decisions are causing Americans to suffer with now his
government shutdown? He is already making us suffer from contaminated lettuce
and farm foods because he took out the Clean Water Act. His tariffs are costing
us higher prices for everything we need to buy or sell and as a result we have
lost all our gains in the stock market over the past two years. Now he is
giving control of Syria and Afghanistan over to the Russians after 20 years of
our dead soldiers fought to restore democracy in those regions.
The degree of worry is on Capitol
Hill and the realization that Trump is a dangerous man abusing the power of the
Presidency is astounding. At least now that the Democrats have taken over the
House of Representatives and will be moving forward on anti-corruption and
voting rights legislation and jump starting investigations into the Trump’s
Administration corruption that until now the Republicans have not been so
interested in sorting out. The New Year is supposed to mean a fresh start. Trump
has created a hot mess already this year. He has used the immigration issue as
a political football. The system is broken and hasn’t been tweaked since the
mid 1990’s.
There have been deaths of
children on American soil due to neglect. This should never happen in America
the place where people settle from all over the world. Trump’s appointed Head
of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen who is in charge of the immigration
situation should be fired and take responsibility for the conditions children
are being held in, for the lack of record keeping of families that now we have permanent
orphans, that there are workers hired to care for these children who have not
been required to have background checks for their worthiness to work with
children. America was much greater without Trump.
