Cardi B became the first female
rapper to have 3 billboard number one singles at the same time. Her 5 new
nominations include Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Her greatest
appeal is her open personality and the way her relatable speech is to people. From
the Bronx, New York this Hispanic woman was born Belcalis Almanzar who had a
nickname of Barcardi and then she called herself Cardi B. When 17 years old she
joined a gang and got kicked out of her house. She worked at a grocery store to
make ends meet. Then she got fired for always being late. Her boss told her to
get out and be a stripper. So she did.
The next day she went to the
strip club and got hired on the spot. Within 5 hours she made her previous pay
check that took her a week to earn. Once she saved lots of money she then put
out mix tapes. She appeared on the reality show Love and Hip Hop. Then she
posted lots of pictures of herself on Instagram and went from 5,000 followers to
38 million followers. Time Magazine named her one of the most 100 influential
people. Does she deserve all this fame and fortune?
Recently at a very classy fashion
show she got into a fight with Nicki Minaj throwing curse words and her shoe.
You can take a girl out of the Bronx but you can’t take the Bronx out of the
girl. SIGH! She ended up in court for another cat fight in a strip club charged
with a Misdemeanor Assault. It has been an extraordinary year for her and she
always bounces back. So is she some kind
of inspiration?
