Deal or No Deal

It is a mistake to be focused on 2020 because our hope for change in our government is now in the election of 2018. Our country is in real trouble. We have a democracy that we cherish and respect and fought for yet presently it is not working. Our Republican Congress hasn’t passed a budget in years. The dysfunctionality and corruption in the system is astounding. Our system of government is not delivering anything to the needs of average folks. When 52% of America’s income is going to just one percent of Americans, that is an unsustainable political equation. Then there is the constant bickering putting Americans on the verge of a new civil war over what Obama did and now what Trump is doing. They are completely different in their judgement of a situation.
Trump called the Iran Nuclear deal the worst deal ever. Part of that deal did involve giving billions to a terrorist supporting regime. Obama gave them back their money because it was earning large amounts of interest because we were under a court agreement with respect to that amount of money. The tax payers would be paying billions of dollars to Iran so it was better to give them the smaller amount that was their money anyway.
The Iran Nuclear Agreement was the strongest most intrusive most accountable nuclear agreement that we had anywhere on the planet. It required a country that had nuclear capacity and was going to have a weapon within two months after the agreement was made to stop. The agreement required them to destroy their plutonium reactor, undo their centrifuges that enrich, limit their level of enrichment, had 130 additional inspectors to let us know what was happening, limit their mining, had night vision cameras watching what they were doing all the time, and the plan was working. Iran was becoming a productive land with nuclear power plants for energy and not weapons.
China, France, Germany and Britain have all signed the agreement under Obama. No one agreed with Iran’s missiles, their support of Hezbollah, what they are doing in Yemen and we don’t agree with their attitude towards Israel. But to be able to eliminate their nuclear weapon was essential and still is essential. Then we could have also limited them to move away from those other things too. The current Trump position is wrong to pull out of the agreement and now have no knowledge of what Iran is doing now.
Issues like this is dividing our   country and if we had to go to another war with Iran, we won’t get the support of the other countries that we pulled away from. All of our previous Secretary of States thought the Iran Nuclear deal was the right thing to do. We need to pull away from Trump because he is destroying our foreign policies with his arrogance and inexperience and lack of intelligence to take the advice of professionals that have dealt with Iran for years. It is important that more people from the other side of the domineering party be elected in 2018 so at least our government could be more balanced, represent all Americans and pass policies and laws that benefit us in reasonable thought out ways.
