This President of ours is
exhausting. He has no filter and is in constant defensive mode. If the man has
nothing to be ashamed of in his life he should be welcoming every and any
investigation that he might be associated with, having open arms to prove that
he is an upstanding and honorable person worthy to lead this country. Instead he
shouts “witch hunt”, calls a lawful investigation an “attack on our country.”
Does he even know that this country is based on checks and balances and not on
a dictatorship? He is running this country like a kingship giving top positions
to his loyal friends and family and not based on any other kind of merit.
Read our first female Secretary
of State’s new book by Madeleine Albright called FASCISM a Warning. Her views
point to the glaring example of what is wrong in government by pointing out the
flaws of President Trump. We can not have a President who believes that he is
above the law. She points out that Trump is the most un-democratic President
that we have ever had. Part of what he is doing is to under mind Democratic
prophesies. We have to hope that Congress will do its job and stand up to why
they are there. The First Article of the Constitution is about the power of
Congress. It is time for Congress to prove that they are a equal Branch of our
Government and to not have a bullying President who lies and takes into his own
hands the law.
Trump has to realize that the
world is listening to every word he says as our leader because the world
respects America. Last week he boldly said without any consultation that he
wants to pull the troops out of Syria. This week he spent millions of dollars bombing
Syria. We can not have a flip flopping
policy. We need a strategy. Syria is a very complicated place and is basically a
proxy war for everything happening in the Middle East. The Iranians and Saudis
and the Shia and Sunni influence there is a melting pot of very angry people.
Most Americans don’t know much about Islam no less than the difference between
Shia and Sunni beliefs. Then there are the differences between the Arabs and
the Persians. Then there is the problem with the Turks that do not like the
Curds. It was the Curds that were helping America to get rid of ISIS and that
is just the major issues.
Then there is the Dictators of
the region of Putin backing Assad with weapons and influence over the chemical warfare
killing his own people who dare to oppose his leadership. Diplomacy has to be
tried and not just more mass killing. Policies have to be negotiated and implemented.
None of that reasonable thinking is happening. Trump is our dangerous appointment
who has very hardline views. He doesn’t have a good National Security Advisor
because they have been leaving the job like a revolving door of candidates in
the past year, the only year of Trump as President. The job of the National
Security Advisor is to listen to all sides and to listen to others in our
government like the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of State. Trump in
tweets doesn’t even warn anyone of what he intends to do. He is a very
dangerous man.
If Trump really wants to do something
about the poisoning of children in Syria, he needs to consult with his good
friend Putin and at least suggest that Putin stops funding the weapons being
used in Syria. Diplomacy is much more effective in changing a mindsight than
any destructive weapons. A Democracy is about respecting all people of
different faiths and beliefs but managing our lives in a peaceful co-existence.
Dictators don’t even know what that is.
Fascism is alive and well in the
world and we need to learn of the dangers from it from history looking back at
the beliefs of Mussolini and Hitler. Now we have elected leaders in Hungary,
Turkey, Poland , Philippines and Venezuela who are running communist
governments put there by not so truthful election processes. These men in power
in these places have an attack on the press, have a lack of respect for
democratic institutions, they think they are above the law , they have rallies
and propaganda to get folks excited and to move to violence and not to respect
the views of others in peace and a harmonious life together on earth.
