It is the day after Easter and
today it is snowing. What should you do since you still have friends and family
at the house after celebrating the holiday of forgiveness? You go to the Auto
Show and enjoy browsing around all the new shiny vehicles, the ones you can
afford and those special new inventions or sporty or classic cars that you know
you could never afford. Let your mind wander into the mystique of the
experience of imagination of what if. Yes what if I had that perfect credit
score or that black American Express card that I can just say, “Okay, I’ll take
one of those!. “ More importantly the Auto Show is a place of privacy. Yes I
said privacy. It is a massive room full of new driving toys where you can browse
without having to make eye contact or talk to any car salesman and that experience
alone is a blessing. Dreaming is fun, knowledge is power and it is something a
group of people can do together in Manhattan without having
to pay high prices for sporting events or Broadway Shows.

Right now the New York 118
th
International Auto Show is in full gear. You can get an up close look at the
latest cars and
see all the new concept cars. There is a car
that even makes expresso coffee for you! They open the doors at 10 o’clock and
join the crowd eager to get their first seats in a spanking new car for the
first time in your life no matter how old or young you are. This year there are
more than 1,000 vehicles on display you can choose your fantasy to experience. There
are four different levels to browse and the event goes on for four days. There
are a number of cars being displayed for the first time ever. If you are a
serious shopper it is a great place to comparison shop.

Just the experience of getting in
and out of a car sometimes can tell you immediately if you like the machine or
not. Feelings are everything. Adults don’t need Disney for feelings and fantasy,
they need the Auto Show LOL. SUV’s and Pick Up trucks have become increasingly
popular lately since the price for gas is still relatively low and many
manufacturers are offering lots of different sizes and models. Many people are
serious about the experience and have already made up their mind and are in the
market to buy a vehicle but are there just to reassure themselves that they
made the right choice for themselves without doing the leg work to visit
various showrooms.
The show is running through April
8th. There is everything there from a $4 million dollar car to
Consumer Reports best bets.
