Image result for police and military with guns

I remember when only the police and the military carried weapons and the weapons weren't concealed. When everyone who carried a weapon was trained and properly used that weapon and had to take psychological fitness exams before they could be certified to carry a weapon. When these trained professionals only used a gun or weapon to protect and serve. It was safer times. The only place we saw folks taking their guns off the gun rack in their home  or civilians wearing guns in holsters were in the old wild west movies where law men weren't abundant in frontier towns. I remember  when  guns were not in the hands of the mentally ill shooting up movie theaters, concerts, churches and schools. When children didn't bring weapons to school. When we were safer on city streets from armed robberies and armed assaults.

We need to stop the promotion of the Second Amendment that was written during the Confederacy in militia times when automatic high powered weapons didn't exist. When gun powder was rare and it took a long time to power a weapon again. Get the guns out of the hands of children and discourage weapons for sport. Killing is not a game.  Gun manufacturers should be held responsible for knowing who every bullet and weapon was sold to. Possession of weapons to the general public should be highly taxed and the tax revenue should be spent on the rehabilitation and care of innocent shooting victims and their families.
