I remember when fans wore their street clothes to sports games and everyone cheered on their favorite teams without the fear of being assaulted for being a fan of the opposing team. I remember when it didn't cost thousands of dollars for a ticket to a game. I remember when after your team won a championship the fans didn't go into the streets and destroy the town. I remember when no one spent lots of money on team shirts. We respected the teams and the professional players of sports games who were the only ones who had the right to wear their logo hats and shirts.
We need to go back to the times when you don't fear being assaulted at a game, when everyone didn't get drunk in the parking lot before a game or got drunk during the game when ticket prices were reasonable and every father brought their child to the game and not their drinking buddies. We need to require team players to be role models on and off the field as part of their contracts. We need to stop paying ball players millions of dollars and spend the profits from games on the towns and cities the teams represent. Encourage children to participate in sports and provide free and save environments for them to play too.
