Save the Children

Do we need a “me too” movement for exploited sexually abuse children too? Why are the sexual abusers of any age, creating victims in any industry are done at the hands literally of perverted men? Porn sites are full of young boys and girls doing outrageous sexual acts. Sure the rise of the “me too” movement is being successful at ruining the careers of these professionals eliminating them from the places where they were so successful but also abusing boys and girls sexually. Should we be going a step further and castrate those penis waving men? Cut the un-gloved fingers off of the doctor who sexually abused those gymnastic children? What will it take to stop these sick men from committing sexual crimes?

Part of the problem is the attitude that “boys will be boys” and acceptance of inappropriate unwanted sexual behavior. Even our President was elected anyway after it was revealed that he meets women by grabbing them by the pussy. Why? We all should be better than what we are willing to accept in society these days. Ethics and morality has been tossed aside to look the other way and self-promotion at any cost to anyone. In all the recent revelations, the men used their power in the industry to belittle others even to the point of sexual control. How are we going to restore the mindset that it is all wrong to take advantage of anyone sexually especially in the work place?

Most recently there is the child sexual abuse scandal that is changing the face of United States Olympic Gymnastics. There are hundreds of children who need to take back their lives and they are the well- known children. They are the talented gymnasts that were at the top of their game being of Olympic quality sports women. Their memory of abuse will live with them till they die but at least with their courage to reveal the most embarrassing moments of their lives publically and in court statements there is hope that even the not famous and abused children even at the un gloved probing fingers of possibly even from their fathers or uncles will have the courage to escape the sexual abuse somehow.

Aly Raisman, the three time Olympic Gold Medal winner, said it best and is being an advocate to create big changes in Olympic Gymnastics because she was one of the abused. On January 24, 2018 the Olympic Doctor was sentenced 175 years in prison. Doctor Larry Nassar abused over 156 girls over a twenty year period some who were as young as six years old. He was the head doctor at the most influential gymnastic organization in the country who trained and promoted the careers of the best gymnastic athletes in America. He practiced medicine at Michigan State University who took a deaf ear to allegations made by the children for years. Doctor Larry was the Chief Medical Coordinator for the United States Gymnastics Team in 1996 who traveled with the teams of girls to four Olympics as the team doctor.

He betrayed the trust of the unknowing girls who did what they were told and proceeded to finger them un-gloved, gave “medical treatments” to them in their hotel rooms late at night and was aroused during his exams. He worked alone never with an assistant or nurse present. Over the decades as a sexual predator some girls did share their horrifying tales of sexual violation but little or nothing was ever done to stop him. They were either not believed or were discouraged from speaking out about him. The girls were told that they were lucky enough to be part of the most influential gymnastic teams in America.

Now steps are being taken to erase every step he took in the sport to erase the residue of abuse in the sport. Time is up there too. The United States Olympic Committee, United States Gymnastics, Michigan State University and the Bela Karolyi Training Camp who took this monster doctor’s side for so long will now be held accountable for their in action to protect the children. The entire American gymnastic community must be disbanded and put together with people who will never hide abuse of children ever again.
