Trump’s America is a place where
oil drilling can take place in our National Parks that were designated to be
untouched territory. Now Trump’s America wants to annoy and chase down our wild
horses on National Parks lands. Wild Mustangs were always symbols of America’s
treasured example of untamed beauty. We all wish we could run wild at least for
a while. The predator chasing our wild horses is anything but natural. Trump’s
government is authorizing helicopters to chase and chorale the wild horses for
miles until they are exhausted. The helicopter roundups are commissioned by The
United States Bureau of Land Management. What true American would want our tax
paying dollars to be spent on torturing our natural wild life?
The BLM is doing a controversial
practice where the horses are being herded by high speed noisy and windy helicopters.
What happened to the Marlboro man, that guy on the horse humanely dealing with
wild horses? And why bother those
beautiful beasts in all their wildness anyway? The horses are sometimes being held
PERMANENTLY into holding cells to control the population. Now Trump’s
government is considering to allow the slaughter of these majestic animals for the
first time in 50 Years. The lives of thousands of horses are in jeopardy. Most
of America’s 75,000 wild horses live on public lands. The government controls
these lands.
Why do we have to control the
horse population if they are on our untamed lands? Jim Schnepel is the
President of the Wild Horses of America Foundation. We shouldn’t need a
foundation to protect our wild animals. The BLM or Bureau of Land Management
controls 1/8 of the United State land. Our horse home is in jeopardy because
this Bureau leases over 60% of the land out to ranchers. Yes, our government is
making money on our tax paid open lands. The ranchers want the horses pushed
off the land so that only their private owned livestock could graze on all the
grasses and food. Is there any ethics left to our lawmakers?
There are over 5,000 horses being
held in holding facilities at any given time costing tax payers over $50
million dollars to manage in a single year. Trump likes to waste tax payer
money. The United States Department of the Interior was established on March 3,
1849. Why does arrogant Trump think we need to change things after 169 years? Corporate
greed has spilled over into our beautiful National Parks. In the 2018 budget
Trump’s America is lifting the regulations to allow the slaughter of our wild
horses on our protected lands. Why is suddenly the very agency formed to
protect these animals now authorizing the slaughter of them?
Who voted for that? If you care,
put on your protest shoes and join up with the American Wild Horse Preservation
Campaign. The Bureau of Land Management is asking Congress for permission to
kill our wild horses. Our tax dollars should NOT be paying for wild horses to
be held like prisoners in holding cells until the government goes even further
and allows a killing spree. Why does America love and want to use and choose their
guns and not to choose life and freedom?
Even 84% of Trump’s supporters
oppose the slaughter of wild horses then why is he allowing a vote to kill the
animals to go to Congress? We do have Lobbyists from the American Wild Horse
Preservation Campaign doing their best but a good President could stop all this
new slaughtering. Trump is NOT a good President. Not even to wild horses. His
sons like to kill wild animals all the time for their own sadistic pleasures. The people wanting this slaughter are there
because they can personally profit from it.
If the government wanted to be
humane in any way they could be investing in birth control darts to control the
populating and not pay for costly horse prisons. Darting mares with birth
control will surely control foals being born. The darts cost $2.00 and the
medicine costs $25.00. A much simpler and cheaper solution. Better yet keep the ranchers and the killers
off our national lands for another 169 years. Leave our wild horses alone!
There are places like the Montgomery Creek Ranch that will tame a wild horse
and provide them as companion animals. There is no need to kill these majestic
horses.
Horses have value and need to
remain in the wild on our public lands. Horses represent America’s past and
were long here before any of us came to America.
