Do Nothing Donald On Drugs

There is evidence that the United States Drug Enforcement Administration is far from keeping Americans protected from dangerous lethal drugs on the streets and in our medicine cabinets. Addictive opioids are still all over this country. Where is Trump’s crackdown on this epidemic ruining Americans? We even have a DEA Office of Diversion Control that is a government agency that should be regulating and investigating the activities of the pharmaceutical industry. What are they doing to stop the availability of heroin on our city streets?  An informant who was in charge of the DEA Office of Diversion Control, Joe Reniec, has come forward and has revealed how the opioid crisis was allowed to spread aided by Congress, lobbyists  and a drug distribution industry that allowed unchecked hundreds of thousands of pills to get to pain clinics and bad pharmacies.

This crisis that is lasting over two decades has claimed over 200,000 American lives on our soil. Trump is always blah, blahing “America First” but he hasn’t done much to correct the issue. Joe said that this is an industry out of control and no one is worrying about what the law is. People are dying because no one is controlling the supply of drugs out there. Joe Reniec has a law degree and a degree in pharmacy. Most of Trump’s appointed officials have NO credentials or background in the divisions they lead, just loyalty to Trump. The distributers of drugs are multi-billion companies on the Fortune 500 list. Billionaires like other billionaires and that is probably why Trump has backed off his campaign promises to clean up drugs flowing in America.

The middlemen that ship the drugs from the manufactures like Johnson & Johnson distribute the addictive drugs all over the country. Now millions of dangerous drugs are in bad pharmacies and bad doctor’s offices who prescribe and give out the harmful drugs for profit. People who have no legitimate need for the drugs are getting access to it. There are three well known distributers that are getting 85% of the drugs out to the public. In the late 1990’s opioids like Hydrocodone  and Oxycodone became routine medical treatment for chronic pain. Doctors like Dr. Paul Goldenheim from Purdue Pharma the Research & Development V.P. assured Congress and doctors that the pills were safe. THEY LIED.

Dr. Paul in a 2001 Congressional hearing said, “Addiction is uncommon, addiction is rare.” What planet is this guy living on? He was bought and sold by the big fat company he worked for. After that, prescriptions skyrocketed with most doctors believing that these types of drugs were safe. Soon lots of people became addicted and turned to shady Pain Clinics and were able to obtain more pills easily. Crooked Doctors were writing lots of prescriptions quickly. All of a sudden the Crack epidemic was nothing compared to the destruction opioids were doing to lives. Doctors became drug dealers in lab coats.

Despite arrests of doctors and closing of pain clinics,  opioids kept on being available. How? From 1999 to 2015 the drug overdose numbers increased dramatically and most deaths were opioid related. It was the crooked distributors like AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health and McKesson were the culprits. They were ignoring the Federal Law under the Controlled Substance Act requiring them to keep track of how many and to whom dangerous pills were being sent to. We need a law to keep a record of who every bullet is being sent to and maybe we would all be safer from unlawful people with guns too. But no law is effective unless we make sure people are law abiding.

Suspiciously large orders were being sent to some clinics and doctors. The distributors just sold a lot of pills and made a lot of money and could care less about the danger and misuse of the product. When people don’t care, the society is harmed. A pharmacy in Kermit, West Virginia, a town of only 400 people, ordered over 9 million Oxycodone pills over 2 years. No one called the place having suspicious activity? The companies turned a blind eye to the epidemic and Trump is doing NOTHING to stop them still. Will Trump have the balls to shut down a rich drug supplier? Hell no, Trump likes to feed large corporations with de-regulation and paying less taxes for the wealthy and their big companies. How the hell is that “the American way?” Trump is allowing the destruction of the people of this country. In 2011 more than 17 thousand people died from opioid overdoses. In 2014 the DEA got tough and fined the distributors millions of dollars for them allowing large amounts of dangerous drugs to be sold. The powerful corporations fought back and wanted Joe fired and managed to decrease the approved fines by congressional leaders.

Yes Congress is America’s drug dealers ultimately. And now do nothing Donald is the leader of this mess. They are not even freezing shipments of drugs to small populations that request large amounts of pills. Stupid Jeff Sessions at the Justice Department did nothing to prosecute the large distributors. He seemed to never remember anything especially if you mention Russia to him. Sigh!

No one is treating this war on drugs like a war. Where are all the federal agents swooping down on these distributors and closing them down? Now the distributors are so powerful that they are lobbying Congress to shut down the DEA, the only agency that could stop them. The distributors spent $100 million dollars to get the heat off their backs by paying lobbyists to romance Congress and it worked. Congress forced Joe to resign who was investigating and fining the powerful distributors. Congress took all his staff away. Now there is a law that would make it impossible to stop the distributors. The area of America in Pennsylvania where most of the drugs are being distributed is in Congressman Marino’s district. Trump  nominated this creep to be our nation’s Drug Czar till recently. How the hell does that help America’s epidemic of pills everywhere when this Marino guy DID NOTHING?
