You’re killing me! No longer an expression or words heard on your last possible day but what is the reaction to American food. I have to desperately search the supermarket to try to find something to eat that hasn’t been processed with more sugar in it simply because I know that it is not good for my health yet it is everywhere in all our processed foods that we like to eat.
I am right. New research coming out of America’s most respected institutions is starting to find that sugar the way many people are eating it today is a toxin and could be the driving force behind this countries’ leading killers including heart disease. So, now this cup cake will give me a heart attack along with anyone's diabetic condition. The added sugars to our bodies have placed America into a health crisis.
Dr. Robert Lustig is at the University of California, San Francisco and is a pioneer in what is becoming a war against sugar. Motivated by his own patients which are too many sick and obese children, Dr. Lustig has concluded that sugar more than any other substance is to blame. Diseases like obesity, type 2 Diabetes, hypertension and heart disease become apparent. So that is why most kids are fat, fainting but crazy and cant run a mile.
What is worse is that 75% of it is preventable. Why are we killing ourselves? Why is the food industry making crap easily available to buy and eat? This Doctor has written at least a dozen articles on the dangers of sugar. Look at his lecture on You Tube called “Sugar The Bitter Truth” and listen to his message for yourself.
He wants all Americans to enlist in the war against bad food. Stuff like table sugar, honey, syrup, sugary drinks and desserts. Also,  just about every processed food you can imagine where sugar is often hidden like in your yougart, jar tomato, white bread and even peanut butter . Should I starve? These things are what most Americans eat . Just look at the labels on the jars or plastic.
The worst sugar is what they add called High Fructose Corn Syrup. It is equivalent to table sugar, makes everything taste good but is poured into stuff in large quantities that we just don’t need and they are both bad, equally toxic. Years ago factory food wasn’t everywhere. If you craved something sweet, you ate some sweet fruit. You satisfied your cravings and also got your fiber from the pulp in just biting into a apple or peach and a round fruit fits perfectly in your palm and is the right amount of natural sugar for you. That giant box of cookies is going down, nobody can tell me to eat just 4 cookies! Ouch, am I getting a heart attack?
Since the 1970’s sugar consumption has gone down nearly 40%. But High Fructose Corn Syrup has gone up to more make up the difference. We just love the taste but it is toxic. There is no natural fruit grown anywhere that is bad for you. We were born to eat the fruit off the tree or vine and who can eat 10 oranges off the vine? Nobody! So we ate the right amounts and we were healthy.
As usual it is all about money. As sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup became cheaper to produce, food manufactures began pouring it in our foods in large quantities. We all know that a “spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down,” but stop singing that song, we’ve had too many spoonfuls and now we have to monitor diabetes. Americans now consume 130 pounds of sugar per year. That is one third of a POUND every day not a cup. Go measure it out and see what a ridiculous amount of sweet it is.
The Doctor has done enough research into the matter to believe that all that sugar we consume daily is a major contributor to heart disease. For years, he has been a controversial voice but now more research has backed up his findings. Do you really think the big food manufactures that fill our boxed foods with all that sugar wants anyone to know what this DOCTOR IS SAYING? Hell NO, they need profits so what if you die, there are too many people on this planet anyway. Their view not my point of view.
Studies done by Kimber Standhope a Nutritional Biologist at the University of California Davis, has also linked sugars to strokes. The liver gets too much sugar, and converts some of it into fat and the fat ends up in the blood stream and then clogs it up with a dangerous form of cholesterol called LDL that form together, clog your veins and then you have made great conditions for your stroke or heart attack.
Louis Cantley, a Harvard Professor and the head of the Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center says through his studies he has determined that when we eat or drink sugar it causes a sudden spike in the hormone insulin which can serve as a catalos to fuel certain types of cancers . What is worse is that findings have proved that sugars are one of the most addictive substances on earth. Ok! Enough proof I’ll try to keep away from the stuff.
