The Eye on the Super Bowl Prize

Who doesn't like gifts from Tiffany's?  No One! Including the team who will win the Super Bowl today. Yeah they get that trophy made by the famous jewelers who hand out those pale blue boxes full of valuable treasures to delight anyone. The company was founded by Charles Tiffany in 1837 and they make the treasured Super Bowl Trophy. It is called the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Named after that Italian guy who was one of the most winningest coaches in football history. The trophy is an elegant 22 inches high weighing in at 7 pounds that  is formed from master crafters that spend months to create.
You may think the pressure is on for the two teams playing for the ultimate win today in football but the pressure is on also for the master engraver who will have to quickly engrave the name of the winner on that trophy in the field. You need confidence on the field as a professional player but the guy who engraves the name has done it for 15 Super Bowls and has worked for Tiffany's for 58 years. Now THAT is an accomplishment. He is Harold Gayner.
He has worked there for so long he remembers back in 1966 when Commissioner Pete Rozelle sketched the design on a cocktail napkin. It was spontaneous creativity and a piece of sculpture that was created. So have fun seeing that spontaneous creativity during the game, at the halftime show and notice that gleaming piece of Tiffany's too. You know they always save the best for last. The Trophy!
