Years ago we had the cop on the street who had a police whistle and a billy club and he created order and discipline before things really got out of hand. He would blow his whistle and if you didn't straighten up you got hit with the nightstick and the cop was a hero for putting that criminal type in his place behaving again. America should be grateful for our whistleblowers for having the courage to come forward and say this isn't right and things must be changed for the better. Whistleblowers always possess the best traits of morals, integrity and ethics. Of course Trump does not possess any of these traits and he is on a crusade to destroy his whistleblower any way he can.
Jeffrey Wigand. Ph.D. was the whistleblower on big tobacco in 1996. He was a tobacco company executive who witnessed testimony in front of Congress from the industry from business guys saying that nicotine wasn't addictive and was not dangerous to your health. In August 1995 he blew his whistle and exposed to all that tobacco was deadly and harmful to all. Doing what was right gave him death threats to his family and being fired from his job and a divorce from his wife because there was a bullet in their mailbox with a note saying this is for your kids. He helped turn the industry around and gave age limits to purchase tobacco products with warnings on every product about the dangers to your health. Thank You Wonderful Whistleblower.
Sherron Watkine exposed the Enron scandal in 2002 as an executive in the company. She exposed a massive income statement fraud. Her anonymous letter led to Enron being investigated by 13 Congressional committees. Her name was leaked and the Enron CEO dumped about 40 million shares of the company before the scandal broke loose. We needed the Department of Justice, FBI and CIA to get behind these fraud scandals so her life could be safe and thanked for her sacrifice for what is right. She exposed the abuse of power. Thank You Wonderful Whistleblower.
Frank Serpico, yeah that other Serpico is the detective who exposed corruption in the NYPD in 1970. He saw cops everywhere taking bribes, kickbacks and confiscating valuables for themselves from criminals. He tried to go through the system who was just looking the other way. He told Internal Affairs that did nothing. He informed the Office of the Mayor and they all knew what was going on and their only concern was how much did he know, who did he know, and who did he tell outside the department. They wanted to kill him. People who expose corruption should be held to higher esteem and not hounded down with their lives and careers ruined. Right now Trump is undermining our most recent wonderful whistleblower. The entire Republican party is hounding down this person and career patriots soldiers in our military must need protection from the very people who govern us all.
Truth should always be stronger than the scope of their corruption. This week the live Impeachment hearing will occur for us all to witness and our President and his thugs will be looking for every word to discredit our wonderful whistleblowers who are the true courageous patriots of America. We need more whistleblowers who have the courage to go directly to Congress and a congress who acts fairly according to the laws and our Constitution and not work just according to stubborn party lines.
Any whistleblower should be thanked for putting themselves in the line of danger for simply coming forward as a loner to say this just isn't right and things must change. In 1971 Daniel Ellsberg copied the Pentagon Papers and the information ultimately resulted in Nixon being Impeached and most of his inner circle at the White House went to jail. Courage to tell the truth is contagious and right now many witnesses are even changing their story to realize that Trump did in fact wanted this for that from foreign leaders to influence our elections and that is an impeachable crime.
Celebrate our weirdos. The folks that have the courage to do the things that no one else is willing to do.
