Where the women at?

Image result for the rock n roll hall of fame
Where are the women represented in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame? They recently announced the folks nominated to be inducted this year and for the first time Pat Benatar was on the list meanwhile for the past 15 years she was eligible for the list. There is a long list of women that should be there but why not? Only 69 of the 888 inducted members are women. That is just over 7% in that Hall of Fame are women. When Janet Jackson was inducted last year she said in her speech to induct more women like her.
Whitney Houston, Cindy Lauper, Chaka Khan, Melissa Etheridge, Cher, The GoGos, are NOT in the Hall of Fame. Why? In 2016 not a single woman was included in the induction. Are they going to try to say they are not rock n roll enough? Yet Billy Holiday, Darlene Love, Donna Summer, Etta James, Nina Simone, The Supremes ARE there and they are legends but aren't necessarily rock n. roll. There is not a Jazz Hall of Fame so perhaps that is why these legends are there. Dave Matthews is in there and he is not rock n roll.
No artist is just one type of music anymore anyway with cross over hit recordings out there with country artists on the same song with rappers and things like Gaga with Tony Bennett together on entire albums even Justin Bieber doing a spanish Despacito song.  So then why not go a step further and include famous rappers into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame too? Just let every successful songwriter in!
Why isn't Queen LaTifah or Little Kim in the hall of fame?  We need to write some letters and demand who we want in that hall of fame. Fame is represented by the fans who make folks famous.  In fact drop the rock n roll stull and just make it a Hall of Fame of Musicians. Fleetwood Mac was in last year and I consider them popular music and not rock music. Why wasn't Stevie Nicks inducted on her own since she has a lot of hits on her own outside the group? We need to make some noise and demand the famous are all represented in music especially some more women that a mere 7%
