In 2018 Marshae Jones got shot while 7 months pregnant in Alabama and lost her baby. She got charged with manslaughter as a result. 38 states are now charging the mothers with crimes if they are involved in incidents that result in the loss of their babies. They don't change the gun laws. They want more guns on the streets with their 2nd Amendment rights. Where are the rights for pregnant women?
In 1984 a drunk driver struck Jannet Anne Johnson who was 8 months pregnant killing her fetus. The State Supreme Court ruled then that the drunk driver couldn't be charged with vehicle homicide because the fetus wasn't a person.
The laws have been overwhelmingly been put in place by anti-abortion anti-choice legislative activists. When there is a high-profile attack on a pregnant woman and she loses the pregnancy, or both the pregnant woman and the future child dies, they are ready and waiting to propose legislation and create an additional crime of causing the death of a fetus. There are laws in place criminalizing pregnant women .
In 2004 Melissa Rowland in Utah had a twin pregnancy and refused to get a c-section and one baby was stillborn. She was charged with murder.
In 2010 Christine Taylor in Iowa fell down the stairs while pregnant and her baby died. She was charged with attempted homicide.
Many women will be in jail now for years for having accidents while pregnant or for even having a natural miscarriage while pregnant. Now their fetus has legal rights and probably even more rights than the mother. Women are now criminals when their pregnancies go wrong. So save yourselves girls . Till we get all the men out of lawmaking and judging our bodies don't get pregnant . Don't have babies. Your lives just don't matter anymore! S A D
