Trump said that he gave John McCain a great funeral. He lied again. He didn't give anyone anything. Congress approved of the very respectful funeral on the caliber of the kinds of funerals American Presidents receive. John McCain got the funeral that he deserved and earned for more than 60 years of service, sacrifice and pain for this country. Trump only focuses on himself in his always own self-promoting narcissist way. 

It was Congress who allowed John McCain to lay in State in our Government property. It was Congress that could have appointed the Government plane to transport him with a military band welcome. It was Congress that approved that he have his religious service in the Cathedral and it was Congress that had the military jets fly over the proceedings out of respect for an American Hero. 

Trump just said in a speech that John McCain never did anything for Veterans. LIES! Trump apparently doesn't remember that John McCain and Bernie Saunders passed the Choice and Accountability Act in 2014. The Veterans' Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014 (H.R. 3230 ; Pub.L. 113–146), also known as the Veterans Choice Act, is a United States public law that is intended to address the ongoing Veterans Health Administration scandal of 2014. Now the Veterans Hospitals have extra accountability on how they treat and medicate our Veterans. The Act was signed by Obama.

It was John McCain who got the expansion of that Act. It is called the John McCain Expansion Act.

The expansion went into law in May. It’s named after three veterans who served in Congress.It’s called the John S. McCain III, Daniel K. Akaka, and Samuel R. Johnson VA Maintaining Internal Systems and Strengthening Integrated Outside Networks Act of 2018.The program currently allows veterans to see doctors outside VA if they must wait more than 30 days for an appointment or drive more than 40 miles (65 kilometers) to a VA facility. Under new rules to take effect in June, veterans are to have that option for a private doctor if their VA wait is only 20 days (28 for specialty care) or their drive is only 30 minutes.

Trump is a habitual liar and doesn't even remember that it was John McCain's bill he signed for the expansion. Trump's comments were made at a Veterans Affairs Meeting where the crowd went silent in disbelief. John's Grandfather and Father were Admirals in the Navy and his two sons are serving in the military right now. Trump is the 5 time draft dodger and his sons never served this country ever either. Trump is an insult to this already great country.
